This experience is led by the Navajo Elder, Pearl Sunrise, who learned this Spiritual Craft from her Grandmothers growing up on the Navajo Nation.
As we learn the techniques of Navajo Weaving, she will guide us along the way with traditional ceremonies and stories designed to enhance our understanding of the meaning implicit in what our hands are doing.
The Spiritual side of this beautiful craft is blossomed out with- Ceremonies, Drumming, Storytelling, and, finally, a trip to the 2,000yr old Taos Pueblo to witness the once-a-year- Maiden Corn Dance. In addition, because weaving is a decidedly physical activity, we offer support such as Swimming , Nature walks, Yoga, and Massage. This offers unlimited Peaceful time: relaxing by the pool, or, lingering in conversation after dinner. Come join us and be part of a unique weaving community for a week. Both beginners as well more advanced weavers are welcome.
